Our Story
Mitchell Mill Animal Hospital was founded on a deep commitment to animal health, community involvement, and a passion for improving the lives of pets and their families.
Led by Dr. Patrice Covington, DVM, our clinic blends expert medical care with a compassionate approach. Dr. Covington has dedicated her career to veterinary medicine and has built a team that shares her passion for treating every patient like family. When not at the clinic, she enjoys life on her small farm, where she cares for goats, sheep, donkeys, and pigs — an extension of her lifelong love for animals.
Today, our experienced veterinary team works tirelessly to provide comprehensive, high-quality veterinary care to pets in the Wake County area. Whether it’s a routine check-up or a complex medical case, we ensure every pet receives personalized, top-tier care with patience, empathy, and dedication.

Our Passion for Rescue & Rehabilitation
In addition to providing exceptional veterinary services, we are deeply involved in animal rescue and rehabilitation through Mitchell Mill Animal Hospital Rescue. Our 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue is dedicated to helping abandoned, neglected, and medically challenged pets find loving forever homes.
Each year, we facilitate hundreds of adoptions, providing veterinary care, rehabilitation, and support for pets in need. Many of our team members actively foster rescue animals, participate in rehabilitation efforts, and help match pets with their perfect families.
